Help us learn how high school students and their parents are experiencing career development through new student and parent "First Career Steps" survey. The survey takes about five minutes to take online and is easy to complete. The tone of the survey is very positive, recognizing that career development is a long-term process, and that many high school students are just beginning to explore and set goals. All individual responses are confidential.
Welcome! The skillspages.com website provides two resources to support youth employment programs in Massachusetts. The first is http://skillspages.com/masswbl, which is a set of resource pages with technical and programmatic information about the Online Work-Based Learning Database and the Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan. The resource pages also provide general information about program design, employer outreach and youth development that could be useful to any youth employment program, in Massachusetts or anywhere. During this winter, these resource pages are going to be re-organized to reflect a new outline that will guide youth program staff and others through a variety of key professional development topics.
The second resource is http://skillspages.com/blog, the Skills Pages Youth Employment Blog, which provides a series of articles about career skills, the job market, summer jobs programs and other topics.
